COMPETE AS YOU ARE PODCAST
You don’t need to feel confident, calm, motivated, or completely ready to compete well.
Compete As You Are is the mental performance podcast for athletes (and the parents and coaches supporting them) who want to get out of their own heads and perform more freely, without trying to become some perfectly confident, mentally tough version of themselves first.
Hosted by Caitlin Beacom, mental performance coach, former Division I athlete, and founder of Altius Mind & Performance, we talk confidence, pressure, mistakes, overthinking, identity, motivation, and all the messy stuff that comes with being an athlete.
Through athlete stories, practical tools, a little psychology, and real conversations, we break down what mental performance actually looks like in the moments that matter.
The goal isn’t to fix everything in your head before you perform. It’s to show up intentionally, bring what’s there, and compete as you know you can.
WHY COMPETE AS YOU ARE?
Altius is a Latin word meaning “higher.” But reaching higher doesn’t mean becoming fearless, perfectly confident, or mentally tough all the time.
Sometimes competing at your highest level means learning to perform while your heart is racing. Then learning to respond after the mistake, take action before you feel ready, all while staying connected to who you are when the pressure gets loud.
Compete As You Are is all about learning to perform with what’s already there (and just adding some tools to your toolbox along the way!)
